Autonomy Summit Weekend 2 (Jan. 11-13)
Time & Location
About The Event
Imagine an existence completely centered on Black autonomous life. During a 4 day, 3 night life exemplification aspiring revolutionaries of the Diaspora across the country are invited to help facilitate real-world demos and thought-provoking panels and discussion; marrying theory with praxis. From community farm-to-table meals, to a pop-up bartering market and community defense patrols, attendees will be completely submerged in an anti-capitalist, Pan-African cooperative community experience.
Besides the crime which consists in violating the law, and varying from the right rule of reason, whereby a man so far becomes degenerate, and declares himself to quit the principles of human nature, and to be a noxious creature, there is commonly injury done to some person or other, and some other man receives damage by his transgression: in which case he who hath received any damage, has, besides the right of punishment common to him with other men, a particular right to seek reparation. -John Locke
Allies who don’t take seriously their obligation to pay reparations to the descendants of those who were systematically deprived of the ability to build wealth or access the necessary resources for human survival are not serious about allyship. Though the Western countries responsible for the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade have yet to institutionalize a system of reparations, radical allies who truly want to help counterbalance the inequities that Black folks have experienced as a result of slavery can do so by putting their resources where their politics are. 400+1’s autonomy summits are an opportunity to do just that. Our summits equip attendees with not just information, but tangible skills conducive to revolutionary struggle. Typically, Black people are left out of these spaces because they don’t have the resources to access them. Our reparations model allows Black people the access that they are, ultimately, denied because of white hegemony.
Tickets are $300 and cover food, lodging, and full access to the panels, workshops, clinics and programs available during the 4 day and 3 night summit. Day ($100) and night ($25) passes are available for those that cannot attend the summit in its entirety.
